About Statuteworks

What Statuteworks is

Statuteworks is a procedural legal reference for non-lawyers. We explain how to actually do the things the legal system asks of you — file a small claim, fight a ticket, recover a security deposit, form an LLC — clearly and without jargon.

Why we exist

Most legal information online falls into two categories: SEO-driven content farms that prioritize ad revenue over accuracy, and law firm pages that exist mainly to convert readers into clients. Neither is built to help someone who just needs to know what form to file, in what court, by when.

We sit in the gap. Every guide is built around the actual procedure: who does what, in what order, with what document, by what deadline.

Our editorial standards

Every article cites primary sources — statutes, court rules, government forms, and official agency websites. We review content quarterly and date-stamp updates. See our Editorial Policy for the full standard.

How we make money

We monetize through display advertising (Google AdSense) and a small number of affiliate relationships with legal-services providers. We never accept payment in exchange for editorial coverage. See our Affiliate Disclosure.
